Din Favoritt.

That’s Norwegian for “your favorite”.

My brother, sister and I have used it to describe our relationship for about as far back as I can remember.  I have no idea how it started, but I’m sure glad it did.  A few years ago, we decided to make it permanent – as in tattoos!  Din Favoritt is now stuck on all of us.  Mine is close to my heart, on the collarbone; my sister’s is on her shoulder, opposite now to a beautiful partial sleeve designed to celebrate her win over cancer; my brother’s is on his forearm, with just a tiny bit now missing after a welding project threw a little molten metal on it.  Of course Mom liked our brother’s the best, since it was the biggest version of the words!  We are first generation Americans on our Mom’s side and 100% Norwegian by heritage, so we have a very strong and proud link to our roots.

It is my hope that with this blog, you can escape for a little bit.  Maybe I become your favorite blog, your favorite mini-escape in a busy day, or just your favorite way to waste some time!  Either way, I’m happy you’re here and excited to share my journey and all my favorite things with you!
